Paper 3 Biology

Tengah hari kat Ky panas gila weh.

Ok, bukan satu intro yang sopan.

Well, well, currently I am revising for my paper 3 Biology which is practical. Two hours of answering those confusing facts, expectations from the examiner.. Mmm.. I prayed that I am able to get A* for this paper so that I can cover the marks I get for my paper 4 and paper 2 Bio. InsyaAllah.. amin..

Esok, 11.15 till 1.30. I will be starving while observing the slide under microscope.
Who cares, A* baby!

Amin.
Tolong Amin kan plis.

Oh, lupa, I private kan my blog.
What the hell I am thinking.
Puffffff......

A sip of break

Status: Being addicted to update the blog regularly although you have bertimbun-timbun homeworks and upcoming tests nearly is one of my symptoms of "oh mai gad, lusa nak balik rumah".And yes, I am in the mood of nak balik rumah.
Music: Hall of Fame by The Script ft Will I Am.

Heloo people! (Does this sounded excited?)

Oh hoi, I just returned from the Manifesto Night of batch 15.0, well, the candidates for tonight are running for President like it is a must to be there. Both candidates were amazing, a round of applause for Zawani and Marina. I can't say much about it as I myself not really outspoken in college but I have a huge respect for those who brave enough to sit on the couch on the stage to present your manifestos. Well done.

Oh, I got a question coming in my inbox.
Some people (a person actually) asked me, why are you writing your posts in blog mostly in English? Do you use English that much in your daily activities?
Well it is a brilliant question by the way, thank you for asking. My answer to that is, no, I do not frequently use English in my daily conversation with anyone or anybody. The point is there, I am not using it in my daily activities but yet I learn English for well,, since kindergarten. It is waste for not using it. So I use it in blog instead for the very least, yes I finally used it. Was that answering the question? Well, since I was in the primary school to secondary school, I live in Kelantan which is my mother-tongue language is not even a proper Malay, so what to expect, of course I used the dialect in my daily conversation. The chance to use English is probably wide opened since I came to Ky which people do use English. Then, I started to get use of conversing in English with my chaletmates as they use it and I need to. And I have to get band more that 7.5 for Ielts exam in order to fulfill the criterion of the medical schools in Uk and what not. Not forgetting that I have interviews with the medical schools which are then made me bear in mind that English is a serious matter. Other than that, I am just fine.

Next issues, have you heard about Galway Medical Symposium? I heard it when there were so many seniors posting about it on fb talking about going to Galway during the weekend to attend this event. And thanks to Kak Ain, she wrote notes during the event to be shared. Visit her blog here!

Other than that, I have had two lab experiments today. Chemistry for chromatography and Bio for testing for immobilized enzymes. And that shortened my blocks for today, 4 blocks burnt happily as I always love experiments!

Can't wait to go home. Yeayy!

Eco-Trip 2012

Status: Finishing my homeworks, pure Maths, Chemistry and IELTS tasks. Although I know that I probably not going to make it all of them today, at least I am trying.
Music: Viva viva la Espana.

Confession, I did stay up late yesterday for the sake of watching the final euro match, Spain vs Italy. Yes, I did fall asleep sometimes in the middle but just for few minutes. And the result was beyond I expected although I really wanted to see Spain won the title again, 4-0 was totally humiliating for Italy. Way to go Spain!

Well, I do not propose to talk about the Euro actually coz it will never end. Here the main purpose.
Last week, the second semester ended dramatically with all the tears and goodbyes. Then, all the students of Kyuem bade farewell to the each other especially the seniors-seniors and the seniors-juniors. Juniors-juniors? Nahh, we just went home without any regrets. HAHA

Sunday, 24th of June, 48 bio students including me, joined an annual trip organised by Biology department called Eco-Trip to Perlis State Park. It was a four days trip. Lawatan sambil belajar laa lebih kurang. Because it involved analyzing, determining problems, and planning skills that we will require for our paper 5 Biology in A2. So yeah, memang an education trip laa. The journey from Ky to Perlis State Park took 6 hours of back-ache on bus. Dizziness was reduced as I only listened to my mp4 and ate nothing during the journey. Thanked to Jida, Mas and Husna who kept offering me food, but I had to pass with all respect.

The activities that we had were so much fun. I was in group 2 and the members were awesome. We got May as our dedicated team leader, Jidah, Husam, Hui, Ayiesha, and Mursyiida. What I enjoyed the most was the 'Night Walk'. We went to see the waterfall. The water was so cold and crystal clear. But I can't get the picture of it because it was very dark. Other activities were, soil study, set up the light trap, catching the butterflies and identifying the species, set up pitfall traps and identifying insects species.

Nothing much to talk about ,so just enjoy the pictures!

The arrival.

our light trap! We shared it with Mr Vroege' group 1
Identifying the insects' species
I had no idea what it was, a giant centipede maybe?

Helium filled!

Saturday.

Hye hey hello and behold!

Two more papers. I won't say that I am excited to death. Well, Biology is a major headache. It is a brain-cramp subject. It requires tonnes of spaces in your right hippocampus in order to digest all of the facts. I swear. But I do not know why, I do not hate it. In fact I love learning'em. It is on this Tuesday and paper 1 is on 13 of June. Arghhhh..

Mengucap panjang.

The day I met Madam Harlina to confirm whether she would be my reference writer, as she is my tutor, she said "It's tough actually, well, I do not teach you, so I do not know you very well, do you mind to ask one of your subjects teacher perhaps to write it for you?"

Headache. Again.

Subject teachers? Ermmmm... Well, I got Miss Aizan for Maths and she claimed clearly that she do not write the reference letter. Miss Ann is my current Biology teacher, but she is very new and fresh, this is her first year of teaching A-level. Madam Faye for Chemistry? She is indeed an active and awesome teacher. She is in my list. And Mrs Beadsworth for psychology, as far as I've been informed, she is going to retire in July so maybe not. Oh wait, how about Mr Vroege? He is a great teacher but.................

Yeah. I had been very confident and that was the step of 'berani mati'. I saw Mr Vroege entering the Biology's Department and I stood up outside the department trying to calm myself. Take a deep breath. For 15 minutes I stood up, menyusun ayat yang proper, hoping that Mr Vroege would agree to be my reference writer. Then, dengan lafaz bismillah dan dengan penuh yakin, slowly I walked to his table.

Conversation!

I: Good morning Mr Vroege! Are you busy?
Mr V: I always busy my dear, but not when you are around. Yes Syifa, what can I help you?
I: (My heart was hyperventilating at this moment.... Sumpah nerves tahap 7 petala) Errr... Mr V, do you mind if I ask you to be my reference writer? (Jantung dah gugur bergolek-golek di atas lantai...)

*********

Mr V: I normally write only for Oxbridge candidates. Are you that brilliant?

Pengsan. Kadar oxygen debt sudah terlampau tinggi akibat inaerobic respiration yang infiniti. *Black-out.

HAHAHAHAHA

Sudah la. Aku nak baca Bio. Makin lama menulis makin tinggi tahap ke'merapu'an aku. Good night peeps!
