Alhamdulillah

Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah

I finally finished for both of my medical school interviews.
Uni of Liverpool and Uni College Cork.
I can't say much about it.
I had made my best and pray for the very best outcome.

All the experiences are different in their own way.
They are not even the same as the mock interviews that I had before.
I received such an unbearable views from my reference writer, Mr Vroege during my mock interview with him as I can't answer properly to his question about immunity and vaccination.
But medium-pitch applause to my mock with Mr Tony Finch, although I felt like some lacking in my answers but still he graded me amazingly, well. Or was he being just nice? I don't know but he was really kind and interesting man to talk to.
My third mock with my former psychology teacher Mrs Beadsworth whom before I rated her as a serious, sometimes sarcastic teacher. But during my mock with her Alhamdulillah, my answers caught her attention, because her question was more into 'this and that situation and how you deal with it'. Psychology helped, although just for As. And what make me even happier was, she said, "If I am the interviewer for Liverpool Uni, I will glad to take you in". Yes I know, it was only a mock interview, but it did bring me on the cloud nine.

Conclusion, I do not know what to feel...
And at the end of the day, one thing for sure, I have faith in Allah.
Regardless everything that had happened, I am going to start studying.
He knows BEST.

Kak Zahra once wrote on my notebook,
"Have Faith in Allah."

Kak Azie always keep myself reminded of,
"Diantara keberhasilan pada akhir perjuangan adalah berserah diri kepada Allah sejak permulaan"
ibnu Ata'illah

And the wall message that I got from kak Tipah this morning,
"Hasbunallah wa nikmal wakeel"
Cukuplah Allah menjadi Penolong kami dan Allah adalah sebaik-baik pelindung.

Alhamdullillah.

Pool and Liver

Interviewer: This is the end of our interview. If you have any questions, please do ask. But certainly we would not record this.

Me: Err.,, I wonder why is it Liverpool? Was the person who found this place was enjoying a pool full of livers in front of his sight?

Damn. Why am I not asking this brilliant question.

A Step Closer

I have not update my blog for a long long time.
I guess.

Titttt tittttt... *message tone
Alhamdulillah! I am so happy after I read Nisa's text. She got an offer letter from the PMC. You know how much I love Nisa and I always pray for her every dreams will come true. Get the grade, and she off to Dublin. I am so happy. Not just about recently I'd got a text in the middle of the night while I already was in my beautiful sleep, Eza texted me saying that she passed her Ausmat exam with flying colors. InsyaAllah, she will be flying to Ausie this February. I'm not sure which uni she will choose as both Uni of Adelaide and National Uni of Ausie want her so bad. *haha. I wish u luck Eza!

And me, =')

Alhamdulillah, this morning I'd read the email. IUMC called me for interview. Alhamdulillah.
And the panel is from Uni College Cork! My first uni I put on my IUMC application form.
Ya Allah, I'm so grateful and I want this with all my heart if I could say.
Please please please Almighty God, spare me one place at Cork. I really want this.

Bismillah. Doa. Usaha. Tawakkal.
There are no secret ingredients.

College is reopening. Cant wait to grad. eheh. 4th sem baby.

The Mock Interview

Status: Last Monday, I was shocked with the news on the notice board which informed that all the medics and dentistry students will have a mock interview session on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The panels were the previous ky headmasters and some of them I was quite uncertain.
So, my session was yesterday with Mr Tony Finch at classroom 2.1 at 2.40 pm.
On that day, I think, most of MARA students will be interviewed by him, so I asked Effah whose session was in the morning about her interview. From Effah's way of telling me about hers, Mr Finch seemed to be a nice person. Effah was asked about the ethical issues of abortion and euthanasia. Being not so sure still about my interviewer, I asked Anep and Husam for their feedbacks too after solat Zohor. Hahh, nampak tak kegigihan aku di situ mencari maklumat. Anep dengan Husam told me that the person was very nice as they felt the interview was a chill conversation between two persons.
So, relief I was for a moment.

2.20 pm

I was waiting at the common room waiting for my turn after my friend, Amalina.
I supposed to be interviewed at 2.40 pm but I was called earlier and enter the room at 2.30pm.

Me: *knocking the door
Mr Finch: Come in. Please be seated.
Me: Good afternoon sir. How was your lunch? (I smiled sampai rasa lenguh plak)
Mr Finch: Great, the food was delicious. So, you are Nur Syifa.............. And you are going to read medicine. Are you?
Me: Yes I am.
Mr Finch: (he read my ps and asked things according to my ps)

Basically I think I can answer most of the things about my ps as I only wrote what I knew and what I experienced.

Mr Finch: The university, in order to find a student to be recruited, they want someone who is committed and who they think will not say, "I have been trying for two years and I don't think that I want to do this anymore". Medicine is a sacrifice. Do you think that you are a committed person and how are you going to prove it?

He also asked me about my job attachment. What have I gained from the experience?

And I was not asked about any ethical issues. Oh, but I was asked about the comparison of healthcare in Malaysia and UK. And some about the bedside manner. Lastly, he asked me if I have any question for him and I asked about, "If I am planning to do attachment or housemanship in Uk, am I allowed to?" and  some other questions yang I can't remember the exact details.

Fuhhh, the interview finished after 35 minutes which exceeded the scheduled 20 minutes for the interview. Luckily, I masuk quite awal. Alhamdulillah, it was a nice experience. Thank you Mr Tony Finch. He was a teacher at KTJ and now he live in Seremban. We talked about my hometown too. hehehe...

Hope to do better for the real interview. InsyaAllah. Amin....

MARA INTERVIEW

music: suara baby Danish yang excited tngop tv. =)
mood: lambattttt..... hehehe

Assalamualaikum... Sorry dear readers, actually this post dah agakk lama tapi lupa nak publish.. huhu~ So, let it begins.. Okay camni, kira mcam sharing experience laa yer..

Agak cliche, after SPM results, website JPA/MARA mula dibuka,, for those yg qualified, uolls can apply for the scholarship either to pursue overseas or dlm negara.. Both are okay laa, but whether JPA or MARA, you guys have to pick just one! As for me to choose MARA, I have my own reasons..

REASONS (why I chose MARA)
1. Most of my family members yg dkat2, pick mara nyer scholars. So, it is easy for me to ask for their opinions, MARA's treatment and so on.
2. Medicine. It is a tough competition. Rmai spm-leavers seek for medic. I just feel that MARA provides more places for this 'favourite' course. X tahu nape pkir camtu. hehehe
3. Rmai cakap, competition to secure a place for mara ada more chances. Because we compete among the bumiputera only. Yes, it is. Tapi klu uolls dah mmg outstanding, why afraid of healthy-competition, rite? I mean, kat ane2 pon, kene bersaing kan? So, be competitive k!

After dah ntar application for MARA, pencoret ader laa gak survey scholars len, tapi amat laa sikit companies, private sectors yg offer for medic. I am so down. Spatutnya kiter patot cri back-ups kan? Yer laa, xleh nak craving for MARA only! Tpi pencoret decided to not apply for any other scholars. Sbb pencoret dah tekad nak amik medic, so, xkira susah ke senang ke, tu laa yang terbaek! Klu x dapat overseas yg MARA pon, I xkesah buat local! Bgows gak tawww! =) Be positive!

Slepas sbulan mnunggu, finally, MARA panggil for the interview. Before the big day, pencoret ader laa research sket psal the interview session. Suppose to be an individual-interview (len ngat ngn JPA yg grouping). So, I asked my seniors, families sumer psal soklan2 yg maybe ditanya. (Just to keep my mind ready)

But when the interview weeks for mara started, rumours spread yg taun ni akan jadik grouping nyer interviu. So, I just like... errrrr.... The reasons why taun ni the procedure changed because the applicants for mara scholar has increased! Lbeyh bnyak yg minta MARA apart from JPA. So, tak cukup masa n tenaga nak buat individual.. (Meaning=again, competition is tougher)

Interview Session
1. My group consist of 8 members. Sumer apply for medic, overseas. Meeting great people. =)
2. As we sat on the chairs, the interviewers gave us the task which was to build a bridge out of the raw spaggetties. The given time was 15 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong,, lupe sudaahh)
3. Mser buat bridge tu laa, kami dinilai. Wloupon xder mende mnape nak ckap, force yourself to speak! haha~ Pencoret hari tu pon, cooperate ngan groupmates jer. Make myself comfortable as it was a simple conversation! And dont forget to smile all day long... haha~ So that the 'nervousness' tu x nmpak sangat.
4. Outcome= Our bridge amat laa x cantekk. haha~ But it is a firm and strong bridge. As it can tampung the loads which is the scissors and tin sardin.
5. Then, we were asked to sit again and every persons were given 1 minute each to answer 1 question about the bridge. Macam penggulungan a.k.a moral of the task.
6. Yang ni crucial gak taw. Pencoret just jawab jerr the quest. Btol salah len kira, asalkan, tak nampak kalut, blurr and konfiden ngan diri. My quest= If you are given a chance to redo the task, what would you change?
7. Peringatan! The interviewers seem sangat laa annoying. Dorang wat muka cam xnak dengar jer aper yg kter cakap..haishhh~
8. Then, it was done! hahaha~ see, xder tnyer mnape pon psal medic! x tahu laa what criteria they are seeking for... uhh.

Aper-aper pon pencoret dpat apa yg pencoret nak! THE EXPERIENCES.. Alhamdulillah, sumer nya b'jlan lancar. And I already did the best. Prayer should always be with us no matter where we are.

And yes! Medic it is.. I will do my very best! Chaiyok, chaiyokkk =)
